PerformanceOptimizer

Filed under: Spyware News — Spyware Parasites: Terms and Definitions @ 1:17 pm
PerformanceOptimizer is a fake optimization application that promises to "boost your computer's speed and general performance". Usually it gets onto the machine with user's knowledge and consent because it has to be installed manually. Once installed, PerformanceOptimizer will report false or exaggerated system security threats on the computer. Then the user will be prompted to pay for a full license of PerformanceOptimizer in order to remove the errors.
