PCSweeperPro

Filed under: Spyware News — Spyware Parasites: Terms and Definitions @ 10:39 am
PCSweeperPro is a rogue anti-spyware program designed to scare you into purchasing PCSweeperPro's full version. PCSweeperPro is usually downloaded and installed via ZLOB/MediaAccess Codec installer found on adult websites. PCSweeperPro may have all the inner workings of a legitimate program, but it does not deliver what it promises and its only purpose is to mislead computer users with bogus spyware threat reports. PCSweeperPro may claim that your computer has "compromising files" which is the incentive for unsuspecting users to buy PCSweeperPro's commercial version. PCSweeperPro states on the "System scan" message: "Danger!!! COMPROMISING FILES Your internet privacy is being threatened Download PC protection for Free" Do not click on the "Download PC protection for Free" or any link provided by PCSweeperPro. Once you click on the "Download PC protection for Free" button, you'll be redirected to IE PCSweeperPro's website (pcsweeperpo.com) to download and purchase PCSweeperPro's anti-spyware program. PCSweeperPro "System scan" messages may will continue to try to recreate itself after reboot. Similar known PCSweeperPro clones are IE AntiVirus and VirusHeat.
