While the vast majority of the press at the time was devoted to Armstrong actually setting foot upon the Moon, the really crucial aspect of the landing on the Sea of Tranquility was just that, the landing.? This day commemorates the culmination of the science, technology, and massive national effort that went into the American Space Program.? In commemoration, we salute the second man to walk upon Luna, the Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo 11: Edwin Eugene “Buzz” Aldrin, Jr.
