It is estimated that there are at least 3 million different spyware versions lurking around in the dull alleys and corners of the electronic super highway, so prevention is always better than the cure in such cases. One last tip is that whenever you set up some new program on your computer system, try to be careful and always read all disclosures, warnings or liabilities that appear before starting the download especially the privacy statement. Legally the inclusion of extra software in any program installation should be documented, but it might only appear at the end of a license agreement or privacy statement. If you see a pop-up as soon as you turn on your computer or even before you open your internet explorer/firefox, that is a sure sign of spyware or any other unwanted activity going on in your computer. Your internet settings such as home page have changed and you can’t even change it back, this means that the spyware software is deep in your computer system and working to further sabotage your computer. Your computer or internet browsing session seems sluggish or very slow, this happens because spyware sometimes opens several versions of itself to avoid detection by anti spyware software, however humans can of course notice that the computer is running very slow.
