How to Speed up your Computer - Part Five: Clean the Registry

This is Part Five of a five part series about how to speed up your computer.?? Here are the other four posts.? Before you follow these suggestions, however, you should get rid of your malware.? Here are the instructions.
The registry is a listing of all the settings and options in Windows. They are listed in the form of “keys”. When the registry gets cluttered with unfunctional and useless keys the computer still has to refer to them and this slows the processes of booting, running applications and going on-line. To fix this, you can delete or edit the keys manually which is tedious and risky, since changing the registry is a good way of messing up the computer completely, if you don’t know what you’re doing.

IntelligentAdvisor

Filed under: Spyware News — Spyware Parasites: Terms and Definitions @ 10:52 am
IntelligentAdvisor is a fraudulent anti-spyware application designed to lure gullible computer users out of their money by using scare tactics. IntelligentAdvisor may be brought into your machine by a Zlob.Trojan that may be downloaded bundled in a fake video codec or can be installed through the MP3z program. As soon as IntelligentAdvisor is installed, it will display false error notifications of virus threats it "found" on your computer. IntelligentAdvisor will then prompt you to purchase its full version in order to eliminate these non-existent threats. It is strongly recommended to remove IntelligentAdvisor from your computer system with no hesitation.

W32Jaydotto

Filed under: Spyware News — Spyware Parasites: Terms and Definitions @ 10:51 am
W32.Jaydotto is a worm parasite that spreads by infecting removable devices found on your system. The characteristic that separates W32.Jaydotto from contemporary worm infections is that it spreads using old school techniques. Once in your system, W32.Jaydotto will search for all removable disk drives and copy both itself and autorun.inf file there. W32.Jaydotto will then encrypt itself so no file name that can be detected by OS is created. The way that W32.Jaydotto infects the computer enables it to remain hidden, as well as aggravates manual removal of this parasite extremely. To remove W32.Jaydotto from your computer once and for all, we strongly recommend using trusted anti-spyware applications instead of manual removal.

Pswxvirtrojan

Filed under: Spyware News — Spyware Parasites: Terms and Definitions @ 10:46 am
Psw.x-vir trojan is a nasty Trojan parasite that generates false threat notifications for VirusHeat and may infiltrate your computer through weak security spots. The messages generated by Psw.x-vir trojan may read the following: "Spyware found Your computer is infected with last version of PSW.x-Vir Trojan" The reason why Psw.x-vir trojan displays such messages is to scare you into purchasing fake anti-spyware applications. Psw.x-vir trojan may also attempt to steal your personal and financial data that may include passwords and credit card information. It is strongly recommended to dispose of Psw.x-vir trojan once it is detected.

TheLastDefendercom

Filed under: Spyware News — Spyware Parasites: Terms and Definitions @ 10:44 am
TheLastDefender (also known as TheLastDefender.com) is a deceitful anti-spyware application. TheLastDefender is promoted by www.thelastdefender.com as "the most advanced tool on the Web, designed specifically for detection and removal of spyware" but, in fact, is just another malicious way to profit from gullible computer users. TheLastDefender may be brought into your computer system by a Trojan via browser security loopholes. TheLastDefender is designed to intimidate computer users by displaying fake error notifications. According to TheLastDefender, these "errors" can only be fixed by the full version of the program, which you are prompted to purchase. TheLastDefender is a fraudulent application and is not able to perform anti-spyware services. Removal of TheLastDefender is strongly recommended.

PrivacyConductor

Filed under: Spyware News — Spyware Parasites: Terms and Definitions @ 10:40 am
PrivacyConductor is a corrupt anti-spyware application. PrivacyConductor is advertised aggressively on malicious websites that have the ability to emulate a scan of your computer and label legitimate or non-existent programs as privacy and security risks. If you download and install trial version of PrivacyConductor, it will "detect" even more threats that can only be eliminated by the full version of the program, which you are prompted to purchase. Another malevolent attribute of PrivacyConductor is that while scanning your computer, it actually sends the results with brief file descriptions to different IPs. PrivacyConductor is a fraudulent application and should NOT be trusted, as well as should be removed from your system as soon as possible.

During this week back in 1836, the Alamo fell.

Liberty, Freedom, Responsibility, Patriotism, Morality. How many are still alive in this Country?
clipped from www.newswithviews.com

WHO LOOKS FOOLISH,
ALAMO HEROES OR US?

During
this week back in 1836, the Alamo fell. For more than 13 days, 186 brave
and determined patriots withstood Santa Anna’s seasoned army of over
4,000 troops. To a man, the defenders of that mission fort knew they
would never leave those ramparts alive. They had several opportunities
to leave and live. Yet, they chose to fight and die. How foolish they
must look to this generation of spoiled Americans.
Liberty
is an easy word to say, but it is a hard word to live up to. Freedom
has little to do with financial gain or personal pleasure. Accompanying
Freedom is her constant and unattractive companion, Responsibility.
Neither is she an only child. Patriotism and Morality are her sisters.
They are inseparable; destroy one and all will die.
